Finnair Business Class

For the business class market from Australia, the Finnair partnership with Qantas, Malaysia Airlines and Cathay Pacific enables connections via key Asian gateways to Europe via their convenient hub in Helsinki, all whilst accruing valuable Qantas frequent flyer points and status credits. Additional partnerships with Thai Airways and Qatar Airways open up more route opportunities and availability at various price points. Whilst Jetstar is a partner of Finnair and may appear in some online results, our consultants will always avoid these routes due to the recliner seats offered.

Finnair fly the excellent new A350 aircraft on most routes, with some flights operated by the A330. All aircraft are now configured with the new 'AirLounge' Business Class product. Laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration, all seats feature direct aisle access. 1hr of complimentary Wi-Fi and a state of the art entertainment system, Nordic Sky, are featured onboard. The A350 has large panoramic windows and ambient mood lighting. With the latest generation air filtering systems and a quieter cabin environment you'll travel in comfort.

Finnair business class menus are created by top Finnish chefs and feature Nordic delicacies and high quality wines to compliment each dish. All business class meals are served on high quality tableware featuring Marimekko designs, bring a fresh Finnish design to your dining experience. On long haul flights, a main meal and second light meal or snack are offered depending on flight length. The main meal features a choice of two starters, three mains, cheese and dessert.

New Business Classic Fares

Finnair's cheapest prices are based on their non-refundable 'business classic' fare levels which were recently introduced by the airline. Seat allocation is not included on this fare level, but is available for an additional fee [$150-250 per long haul flight]. This may be available free of charge if you are a oneworld Emerald or Sapphire member [e.g. Qantas Gold or Qantas Platinum frequent flyer]. If you do not have priority status via your frequent flyer membership you may want to upgrade to the 'business flex' fare level for free seat allocation which is available for a small premium, offset somewhat by the savings in seat fees. Flex fares also permit cancelling your flights for a small penalty, enquire with your consultant for details.

Routes and Pricing

Finnair sells in a range of fare tiers which are determined based on a combination of your departure point, routing, partner airline, availability and European destination. It is effectively a 'pay to play' model, if a route costs them more they pass that on and vice versa. Our experts are on hand to help navigate this complex pricing structure and maximise value whilst working around your preferred trip. Price tiers in Asia are based on the following gateways and partner airline cities, a range of sample lead in routes are listed further below. Our most popular options are using Qantas, Thai and Cathay Pacific to the key South East Asian gateways of Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong to balance price, comfort and connections.

Tier 1) Via Kuala Lumpur to Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket, Delhi [Malaysia Airlines]
Tier 2) Bangkok [Thai/Jetstar], Phuket [Jetstar], Singapore [Jetstar]
Tier 3) Singapore [Qantas/BA], Hong Kong [Qantas/Cathay Pacific], Bangkok [Qantas]
Tier 4) Doha [Qatar Airways]
Tier 5) Tokyo, Seoul [Korean Airlines]
Tier 6) Tokyo, Seoul [Qantas]

European Destinations

Tickets can be booked to land in one port and depart from another to create a more flexible routing. Flights are via Helsinki, one of the easiest and most efficient airports in the world. Pricing depends on your European stopover with fares sold in price tiers. Helsinki is the cheapest arrival point and as a general rule of thumb, the further the flight from Helsinki the more expensive the airfare. For example, Madrid/Lisbon/Nice are their most expensive European destinations. Internal flights can be booked in economy class if business class is unavailable.

Vienna, Brussels, Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Larnaca, Prague, Copenhagen, Tallinn, Paris, Nice, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Hanover, Athens, Chania, Rhodes, Santorini, Budapest, Reykjavik, Dublin, Milan, Naples, Rome, Venice, Verona, Riga, Vilnius, Malta, Amsterdam, Oslo, Bergen, Bodo, Tromso, Trondheim, Krakow, Warsaw, Lisbon, Madeira, Ljubljana, Alicante, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Stockholm, Geneva, Zurich, London, Edinburgh, Manchester.

Some destinations may be operated seasonally, destinations and routes are subject to change. Note: Taxes vary depending on destination, certain destinations such as London, Frankfurt and Paris have higher departure taxes for business class travellers. Finnair can offer different availability to different ports, adding a stopover in Asia or Helsinki can help achieve better pricing.
